I've upped my quod core i7 MAC mini to 16 gb of ram and deffinitly
note a difference in performance. I use the item chooser a lot in the
edit windows of PT, and I noticed with the additional ram installed
voiceover is much quicker to the draw when puling up the contents of
the item chooser.

btw the other person i referenced earleir was using Logic, Final Cut
Pro and lots of oother similar Pro apps. So depending on what you
do, while PT can only use up to 8GB. Other apps may benefit from 16 on
your system now.

I believe you are right from what I have read. I Haven't thought that far
ahead though with PT 11 because of the road blocks we are experiencing
with

accessibility.

Does this remain the same with Pro tools 11? I'd imagine since Pro
Tools 11 is 64 bit, it could use all 16?

I just read a little while ago that Protools can't use more than 8GB
including heavy load plugins. I will let the list know if I make the
upgrade

to 8 over the next few weeks.

Havent done this yet myself as i havent felt the pinch yet on
processor power. Someone i follow on twitter made the jump from 4 to
16GB though and said they did see marked improovement. That being said
unlike you two i am running the i7 3.4GHZ version of the 2011 iMac.

I remember somebody else on here using an Imac I5 quad core. I have

I am thinking about increasing the stock ram to 8 or 16 GB, but
wanted
to
know if anyone who may have done the same upgrade saw a mesurable
increase
in performance.
Thanks
