Thanks Chuck, I think that Slau has pointed me in the right direction. I do
want to send a thanks out to you though, I am getting a much better handle on
using the surfase to control my plugins. Knowing that you have talked about it
here and there, knowing that you use your surfase to control them encouraged me
to keep plugging away at figuring it out and as of now I feel confident enough
to use the waves in paid real time sessions and not just when mixing projects
on my own time.
Thanks for being so available, and offering to talk over the phone is a huge
motivater even if I haven't had to call about this issue.

  Hi Poppa,
  Your question is not clear!
I'm not in front of my rig but try this…
Check to see if you have that region "locked"?
If its locked you can't edit it!
In my pt 9 its under the regions menu.
its called clips in newer pt rigs i believe. :)
  YMMV

Ok, I am unable to select a track for editing, copying or anything like
that by using my up and down arrow to drop selection points and num 1 and 2 key
to select the bars of audio that I want to work on. I can use the arrow keys on
the fly to select for editing, cutting, copying and all of that, but when I try
to do it when the track is stopped it doesn’t select anything. The same thing
when I try to select via marker. Do I need to have something checked or
unchecked to make this happen. Just selecting stuff on the fly is good, but not
precise as doing it from a stand still especially when you are trying to shoot
for accuracy in this case. I have the selecter tool checked, the bars and beats
selected, and I make sure the track or tracks are selected in the track list.
I can go into the edit window and do it by beats and bars in that window in
there, I forget what it is called right now, but simply using the up and down
arrows with the num pad would be much quicker for me. I feel extremely silly
asking some of these questions especially when it is for functions I use all
the time in other applacations.

Thanks for those who do help alot on here and for having pacients with us
when the rounds of beginner questions still pop up.
