OK, let me start by saying this from the get go... If you are reading this,
and either are not willing/interested, or simply think I'm absolutely
stupid! for asking this, then please do not! bombard me on or off list about
it. Just hit your delete key being comfident that I'm not going to ask this
favor but one time and one time only. that said, I think you can spare a
minute to read this question of mine. I promise not to write the list about
this more than this once, so I think reading this message is the least
promise you can give me in return.
OK, here's the deal, and how my mail ties back into ProTools. I am wanting
to produce an album. The thing is however, first of all, and this is a
huge? huge huge huge biggy! I do *not!* want this album to be for sale. I
am doing it totally for nonprofit sake. It's not going on ITunes, it's not
going on Amazon, or Google Play Music, it's not hitting Walmart, nothing
like that. I want this disc in the long run to completely be something I
give to my closest friends and family. So the content basically is, I'm
wanting to put together a CD of about 10 to 12, at most, tracks of
traditional praise/worship music. I plan to arrange all the music myself,
lay some of the vocals down etc. Let me say one more thing before we get
any bit further into this... I do *not!* have any due date as to when I want
this project to be totally completed. If it takes a month, it takes a
month. If it takes a year, it takes a year. If it takes 2 weeks, which is
very doubtful to be that short, but then, whatever, it takes 2 weeks. Point
is, there is no timeframe. I have all the time in the world for this.
Basically, I want to do this as part of a nonprofit ministry outreach kind a
thing. I understand some of you on here are not really religious in nature,
and this e-mail isn't meant to preach gospel or anything to Jesus freak
people with.
What I would like to do however is to get together a group of people in the
blind community who either are or are not, (doesn't matter either way to me)
Christians, don't worry about that in the least, just mainly people who're
passionate about music and audio production in a whole, and see if maybe we
could collaborate on this project. For example, I'll do the music
arrangements for the most part. I say this as, if anyone would like to add
some piano rifs, or guitar rifs or maybe some orchestral stuff, etc. that's
fine. I may ask for some backing vocals be done on a few tracks, and maybe
even have some where I don't sing at all and only contribute the music,
letting someone else do the lead vocals. The catch is, I again want this to
totally be nonprofit. I understand a lot of you get paid big bucks to do
this type stuff every day. Especially people like Kevin, Slau, Venny,
Chuck, etc. So, again, if you either simply can't do it for nothing, or
simply just don't want to do it, or would love to do it, but for free, just
don't have the time, then just leave it alone. In other words, don't write
me unless you're truely interested. I tried to do this a while back and got
some responses off list of people saying they'd do it, but then one thing
after another came up and they never did, thus, the project never took off.
This said, I want you all to know that I'm dead serious about doing this.
If you're not serious about helping me, then don't write. plain and simple.
I'm not trying to convey a rude tone in my wording here. I'm just being
very upfront. If you're not in this and would rather for now not help out,
then just let it go.
If you think this however is a good cause, and would like to help me with
this, I think it would be a lot of fun, and I'd love to talk to you
privately and see what maybe we could put together. Just so you know what
you'd be dealing with, these songs might change a bit, but in no particular
order, here are some of the tracks I've thought about doing:

Again, this may change, but that's just some I thought about using. Doesn't
mean I'll use all of them, but it's a start to work with.
