Hi Herman,

Yes, the dialog for spotting audio is accessible. You can certainly choose to
import the file and spot it at the same time. Be aware that you'll be creating
a new track but it works. BTW, if you choose the second radio button
(Command-r), you'll still have the option to spot but it doesn't do what you'd
expect. In other words, one would assume that it would spot the audio in the
currently selected track but it doesn't.

One more thing, I did experiment a bit with dragging from the regions list for
spotting and it does work. Just to reiterate:
1. Show only the track to which you wish to spot the clip.
2. Maximize the track height with Control-up arrow. This will only work if the
track is currently selected.
3. Select the clip you wish to spot within the regions list table.
4. Route the mouse pointer to the clip.
Here's where it gets a little tricky. You're going to drag the clip toward the
center of the timeline and let go of the drag. Make sure you're in Spot Mode
(f3) before performing the action.
5. Click and drag with a mouse or track pad and move left a couple of inches
and down a couple of inches and let go.

If you were successful, the spot dialog will come up. If not, nothing bad will
happen. It might take a little practice but it does work.

Best,

Slau
