  Actually, when you create a new track, it's automatically selected so, if you
copy from an existing track, crate a new track and paste, the copied audio will
appear in the newly created track. As usual, it's always recommended to make
keep track and edit selections linked in the Options menu.

    Thanks, so let me see if I understand, If the selection/copy is made from
track 1, I creat a new track after it, call it track 2, then use the Control-;
command it will place the currser on the new track 2 and the pasted selection
from track 1 will paste to track 2?
    Does this sound right?
    Thanks for your time Slau

      Control-semicolon moves the insertion cursor down to the next track in
the edit window and control-p moves it up. This applies for only tracks that
are shown. In other words, if tracks 2 through 4 are hidden, pressing
Control-semicolon will move the insertion cursor from track 1 to track 5.

        So when I copy a section to paste, it pastes to the same track I
selected that portion of audio from, how do I go about pasting to a new audio
track?
        Thanks
