I own both the fader port, and the alpha track. While you can't buy the alpha track new any more, I just picked up a second one on ebay the other day for 69 bucks. I prefer the alpha track as the endless roteries let me adjust the plug in setting of plugs including the waves bundle. Also, with some training, you can use the ribin to scrub through a track and set punch in and punch out points to establish and edit, or a fade be it in out, or cross fade.
