Hello Ramie, for the most part, you will always have at least one track
selected. If you are having a problem with wanting to have a track unselected
then creat a new track that you don't need to use and that track will
automaticly be selected. With the Shift R command to arm a track, that track
needs to be selected in the track table. With you not hearing the last track
you recorded when playing back a new track you recorded, you may have left the
first track armed and then armed a new track so you are recording over the
first track. You said that the escape command is not taking you out of the
menues, give us an example of what menue it will not take you out of.

  Subject: My protools questions

  Hi all:

I started using pro tools with the help of Chris geland.

He made 7 parts of his tutorial, so thanks so much for all his time.

But I found some problems that I hope that you can ehlp me.

Not all my problems will be pro tools issues, they may be my bad experience
with mac.

Note that I’m using pro tools 11.1 here.

1-How can I deselect a track, I can select inside the table with vo space.
2-Sheft arm is not working why is this?
3-I recorded a track, and when I need to record another one, I can’t not
listen to my previous track.
The scape buttomn can not get me out of any menu. Is there a solution?

Please be patient with me in this time, and Hope that I can help any one in
the future
