Just to clarify the machine i have is an entry level mac book pro retina 2.4 gig processor with 4 gig of ram. If you feel this will not do the trick i'd be happy to up the ram. But i'm also wondering if this is possible. The apple store told me that it had to be sent away to china for such an upgrade, But unsure about this. Steve
