Try the following,
Under setup, down arrow to I/o and press enter. On the input tab,
command 1 will get you there, VoiceOver right arrow until you hear
default button, and press VoiceOver space. You can do the same on the
output tab as well, which you can move to by pressing  command 2.
Follow the same steps, and then press ok. On my Mavericks system,
with my scarlet 18i20, I had to close PT at this point, and reopen for
the changes to take affect.
