Hello Chat,

Elastic Audio doesn't split the audio into clips. It analyses the audio material with the help of transients. After the analysis, it creates so called Warp Marks. Every transient is seen as an event and can be quantized. The audio is stretched between the warp marks. So crossfades aren't necessary.
