OK, first off, have you inserted a click track into your session? That's the first step. So go to your menu bar with vo+M, then over to the track menu. The very last option in there is click track.

Once that has been done, you *can!* rename that track from click to something like metronome, if you want to, although I normally don't.

Next, press num pad 7. That will toggle on/off the metronome. Press it once, it's on. Press it again, it's off.

The other thing you can do is to go to your menu bar with vo+M, then go to the setup menu. Under here, go to click/count off. In here, you can set how many bars of a count off you want, and can specify if you want the count off to occur only when recording, only when playing, or both. Or, you can obviously turn it off entirely. This click/count off screen only configures it though. To enable or disable the countoff you just set, that is num pad 8. Again, it's a toggle.

So just to reidderate, num pad 7 toggles on/off your metronome, provided you have one inserted with a click track in your session. The num pad 8 will enable or disable a lead in count off.

Hope this helps.

Chris.
