Hello,
I am very interested in switching from Sonar Producer over to Protools, but
still, after much research, have a couple of questions.

What is the difference between Protools Native and Protools Native HD?

I am currently running a MOTU 24IO audio interface with Sonar and would
like to be able to continue to use it with Protools, at least initially, in
an effort to save some up-front cash.
Can I do this?

>From what I've read, you need a special Protools Native card and an Avid
interface if running the HD system.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if there is a flavor of Protools
that will allow me to use my existing audio interface, and if so, which one
is it?

I want to be able to record at least 10-16 MIDI tracks using virtual
instruments, as well as 6-8 vocal tracks (including stacks) and possibly
4-6 other audio tracks for live instrumentation. I generally run
compression and a tuning plug on vocal tracks, as well as some form of
reverb and delay.

Which Mac system and version of PT do I need to be looking for. I am trying
to stay away from the $10,000 range as much as possible, at least until I
can build up some funds to go bigger.

Thanks for any guidance in making this switch. I need to do it ASAP but
want to get it right.
