Hello Krister,
This happens, when a preference is activated, where plugin parameters are by
default activated for automation. Go to Preferences > mixing > automation
and uncheck this checkbox. I experimented when I checked it and then
unchecked it again. It worked the intended way. My system is Pro tools
11.2.1 and Mac OS 10.9
