Hey Krister, Quick explanation of that monitoring toggle would be that if the track is set to input only monitoring, you're only ever going to hear the input until you choose otherwise by unarming the track. Auto input monitoring is Pro Tools being a bit smarter, in that it'll pipe through the input whenever the transport is stopped or you start recording, but switches to playing what's been recorded on the track when you want to listen back, so it saves you the trouble of unarming. In most instances, that setting is the one that makes most sense.
