Thanks Slau, I have rushed into it without thought but, I will definitely follow your advice and, make backups of my system in the future. When it works, Pro tools is the best invension since the wheel but, when it doesn’t, it’s a pain.

Hi trevor, Here are a couple of golden rules regarding Pro Tools: 1. Never update to the latest Software Update before checking to see if there's any news on incompatibilities with Pro Tools. Upgrading will be a risk otherwise. Yes, that's inconvenient for daily use computers but Pro Tools is most often run on a dedicated production machine so software updates can wait. 2. Always save your disk images so you can restore previous versions if necessary or reinstall. In this case, I'm not sure that installing a previous version of PT will help. Generally, you want to be on the latest version, especially in the interest of having the best chance of being compatible with the latest system version. 3. Not specific to Pro Tools, always have a backup drive. You'll have your files on the backup and can either restore or simply copy and paste applications as needed HTH, Slau On Oct 1, 2014, at 9:02 AM, trevor <[email protected]> wrote: I updated my Mavericks today to 10.9.5 and my pro tools isn’t working as it was before. It isn’t seeing the plug ins or the instruments as it should. So, I clicked on the software update and I can’t find where the 11.2.1 download is. Will I need to ring Avid and ask them to do it for me or is it possible to do it without sighted assistance?
