Sometimes, when selecting tracks for editing, if it doesn’t work, toggle the selection of the track by using control p or semi-colon. This usually happens when a session is first opened. Tracks may be selected for editing, but that doesn’t mean they will work By reselecting the track, it somehow gets things working again.
