I just want to know the link to subscribe to the Logic list, if no one has yet
posted it. I'm still getting through my mail, so it's very possible someone
already has.

I hear there are some audio demos as well on how to use Logic, but I think
Keith Reety did them, and honestly, I don't really have anything against Keith
as a person, but the few audio podcasts I've heard him do on

http://www.icanworkthisthing.com

are not very well presented. He said to read the users guide, as his
recordings were not a substitute. Boy is he correct on that! He moves so
quickly, which I understand terseness, but this is so quick, you almost wonder
if he ever even took a breath through the whole recording. His directions
almost sound like a filthally long run-on sentence.

I'm gonna need something more presentable than that, and the thing is, I don't
wanna buy Logic until I know if it will suit my need. That's why a textual
guide from a voiceover perspective, or an audio guide, would help. It's a
shame you can't get a trial, as $199.99 is a lot to be spending, without having
a clue.

Chris.

Hi it sounds very interesting. Maybe one could make drum tracks in Logic if i
can understand the drummer and then import it into Protools somehow, would that
work or would it be overkill?

Hi, Logic has a very nice Drummer for creating drum tracks, and loops are
easy to use. The built-in sounds aren't bad either. You'll have the same
issue with most third-party Synths as with Protools, you'll need to have
Presets created; parameters if they show up in Protools they'll show up in
Logic. Editing of MIDI events currently isn't accessible.

What program is best for doing drum tracks in? How about managing virtual
synths and the like and their parameters?Could you do the synth stuff in say
Logic and then the rest in PT?

I will be glad to give your call. Logic is very helpful as a secondary
platform. I am busy but I plan to use it for mixing down all my midi files. I
will do the final mix in ProTools. But yes some plug-ins cost more than logic.
200 bucks that's not a bad investment for it.

I'm not going to dwell on this subject here on list, don't worry, I
promise, but I'm very much hoping that someone can at least provide me this
info I seek. Once they do, I'll put this thread to rest. Promised.

Yes, I am very much so primarily a ProTools user, however, this said,
I'm very seriously thinking about trying out Logic Pro X. It will definitely
not replace my copy of ProTools. I only want it as another recording option.
Further, though I know major accessibility improvement has been made, it's
still in a lot of ways not up to par with ProTools in many respects. Realize
that I do not again, plan to use it as my primary DAW.

All this said, I recall that there was a mailing list for Blind
Voiceover users using Logic. I just wonder, to help me get started, being I
literally know jack nothing about it, can someone give me the subscription
information to that list?

I'd be very greatful if so.

Ricky Prevatte, I also know you've used Logic a fair bit. Would you be
willing to call me, as I'd like to discuss it a little with you if you're
willing.

        Thanks guys.

        Chris.
