Hi Martin,

Customizing the views is largely a matter of personal preference. Having a
little less in the windows is generally a good thing. That said, it's probably
not a good idea to hide the tracks list in both the Mix and Edit windows as
you'll need to access the track list to perform various functions. You can
customize the displays under the View menu, of course, but be aware that the
tracks list in the Mix window is hidden and shown by the next to last Mix
window view Selector button. In the edit window, you can either use the buttons
within the window or the Other Displays submenu under the view menu.

Some people prefer to do all of their work in the Edit window and hardly use
the Mix window. I tend to keep the Mix window's track list open and do my
routing there. I tend to hide routing assignments in the Edit window. There's
no right or wrong. Some people hide the track list in the Edit window but I
find it's helpful for quick showing/hiding of tracks within a session.
