Firstly, my local dealer just confirmed to me that Avid will switch PT11 users with support plans over to PT12 licences over the next couple of days. He also confirmed that whether I baught PT11 last week and whether I buy today or tomorrow, I'll be getting a 12 licence. So I'm buying my first Pro-tools today, and by the looks of it, it will be 12.
>From what I see on the Avid site and other websites, PT12 actually have no new major features right away, all of the major feature changes and new things will only come in future. So for those people who's not on a support plan who can't get the update for free, if you pay the $199 for a upgrade now, you won't really get something for it. If I was in the shoes of someone not on a support plan who will have to pay $199 for the upgrade, I would have waited till the actual new feetures come out to see what it's all about and if I really need those new feetures.
