Hi Brian,

Actually, the channel strips still appear to the right of the track list table.
Sometimes VoiceOver sees some tracks before the table. It depends upon a few
factors that seem to be almost random. Window size and session size most
probably play a role. Regardless, I wouldn't get into the mindset of navigating
left or right to get to the tracks necessarily because the orientation or at
least the perception of it may change.

It's been a while since I've used version 10 but it's pretty much the same.
It's possible that you might have more items being displayed within your window
options under the View menu submenu list.

Brian, the issue of track selection is simple but yet not that simple. It
depends on a few things. You'll want to check the options for linking timeline
and edit selections as well as link track and edit selection under the Options
menu. The fact that you navigated to a track and it was selected is simply a
coincidence. To select another track, you'd need to click on it or press the
selection button on a control surface.

If you haven't already done so, take a look at
http://www.protoolswithspeech.com for some tutorials. I'm not sure if they
cover version 11 (which is, for all intents and purposes, just like 12 for now.
More importantly, the pdf manuals are chock full of information. If you want to
learn Pro Tools, there are no shortcuts… that is, apart from the ones of the
keyboard shortcut variety and, of those, there are plenty.

HTH,

Slau
