Brian, how Voiceover reads the meter preference might make it little
confusing.
Visually it's set up like a table, and it might cause some confusion.
If you already know this, you can just disregard.
IN the preference, first find the peak label, from there, move Voiceover
cursor with VO+down instead of VO+right until you find infinite radio
button.
If it's not selected, you probably selected infinite for clip indicator.

Hello all,
I am running pro tools 12, and I had a question about the meters. I have my
meters set to infinite in the preferences, at first it wasn’t staying there
when I went back in preferences to check to make sure that my settings were set
to infinite, but I think I finally got it to stay on infinite instead of 3
seconds. What was happening was that it kept switching back to 3 seconds.
Anyway, I opened up a session and I was reading the meter on the master fader,
and it was jumping around. It would start at like -3, and then it would jump
up to -5 and then -6, and then it would go back down. So my meters looked like
they were jumping around, this doesn’t sound normal to me, so I thought I would
bring it to the list. I noticed in preferences that there are new meters in
pro tools 11 and 12, do I need to switch to a different meter type to be able
to have it behave properly? Any help would be appreciated. I went to my
metering preferences and went to the track and master meters, and saw that my
meters were set to sample peak. Do I need to change my meters to the pro tools
classic meters in order for voiceover to read the meter properly? I saw there
were like 4 different meters that we could change them to in there.
Thanks so much,
Brian
