The only thing I can think of is perhaps the tracks were made inactive. I can't think of a way to do that with a keyboard shortcut but, within the channel strip of the Mix window, under track type, make sure the track is enabled. Voice assignment is another possibility. I haven't used the vanilla version for a while so I can't remember how the information is displayed but that's something that might be an issue. Strange. Let us know what you find out.
