Hi Kevin, Here's what you need to do:
You have two values that you need to deal with: the length of the clip you want to expand and the length of the selection within the timeline to which you want to expand that clip. Since you need to separate those two entities, what you'll need to do is unlink the edit and timeline selections. This is, of course, the cause of problems for many blind users when they first use Pro Tools. If the Edit and Timeline are unlinked, as you know, all kinds of confusion ensues but this is one of those situations where you do want to unlink the two. First, separate the section of the audio you want to expand into its own, dedicated clip and select it. Second, unlink the Edit and Timeline with Shift-slash. Now, in the Edit window, define the timeline range to which you want to expand the clip with the num pad. Use Shift-Option-u or select TCE edit to Timeline under the Edit menu to expand the clip to the selected timeline range. Of course, this works the opposite way to compress into a shorter timeline selection. Word to the wise: don't forget to relink your edit and Timelines because that'll certainly bite you in the ass before you realize it ;) HTH, Slau On Dec 18, 2015, at 3:42 AM, Kevin Reeves <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey folks. > > Would someone on this list who is familiar with the process of stretching to > fill a selection be willing to make a quick audio walkthrough?
