Same here. Not doubting you Krister but don't think you would need to spend
that much on a control surface in order to use Pro Tools successfully :-)

Krister, I don't know where you're getting your infomation, but it's wrong
for the most part.

Are you telling me that to get an Apigy surface, which normally goes for
around 5 brand in the US, you're gonna spend upwards of 10 grand in Sweden?
Twice the cost? Surely Sweden is not that bad off in a financial crisis,
or, are they? Also realize that the apigy, is pretty much top of the line
for consumer grade stuff. OK, yeah, if you want something like, well, being
you're from Sweden, you've probably heard of this band so I'll use 'em as an
example: if you want something like Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson from
Roxette would use, then yeah, you'll be looking at 5 figures, easy, but for
what most consumers not running a huge huge label like EMI or RCA would
need, you could get away with quite lower than that.

Remember too, it's not about necessarily getting higher end gear. I had to
learn this the hard way. The gear is only as good as the person using it.
If you aren't experienced, you could take a 50 million dollar studio setup,
literally speaking that much, and make it sound like an old whax cilinder
recording, no better. Or, you could take a 10 dollar microphone, pop some
compression, and lots upon lots of E Q tweaking on it, and get it to sound
like a 2000 dollar mike. OK, granted, I'd never waist my time with that
project, but! the point is, it could be done.

What exactly is it that you're wanting to be able to do with the hardware,
that you feel would require something so expensive/high end? Let's start
there. I'm not doubting you. I'm just trying to better understand where
you're coming from.

And don't forget the control surface you must have, which in Sweden are a
five figure number if you want something that's good and that can take care
of all the features in Pro tools.

/Krister. Pro Tools isn't tied to any specific hardware nowadays although
it does use an ilok so the only cost would be either an upgrade plan or the
initial cost of purchasing Pro Tools. For example, using it here with a
Focusrite Liquid 56

Are these presets only for Protools, or are there also presets for Logic
Pro? I have more or less abandoned protools because of its price tag not
only on the app but on the equipment you more or less must have in order to
effectively run it.

Guys, I am not at liberty at this point to reveal any names, but let's jsut
say after advocating for all of us in the blind community, I may have a big
surprise for all of you.

There is no guarantee, but I'd say at this point I can give you all a 98%
chance that within the next week or two, not only should we have custom
presets made for Synthogy Ivory's Italian Grand Pianos, but we should have a
zip file with all the current presets, and even the new Italian Grands which
will be placed in an accessibility link upon the Synthogy homepage so that
users going forward will have a direct accessible way to get at these
things.

Call me the squeaky wheel, but I'm working with someone pretty high up from
Synthogy. That's really all I'm at liberty right now to say, but he/she is
incredibly confident that we can get this done at no expense to any of us,
so, how about a little thank you to your's truely. LOL! Just kidding! You
believe I'll keep you guys posted! I'm so excited about this!
