I think the problem here is like importing files into any other
session importing into a session where you already have a template in
place has the same issue. If you import multiple tracks the audio
lands on the tracks in alphabetical order . Easiest way i can think
to work around this is to name the tracks in the template starting
with numbers and what they are for e.g. 1 kick, 2 snare, 5 guitar,
etc. Then in capture where you are recording label your tracks the
same way or after you export from capture go through in finder and
label your tracks the same way the track name is in your session
template. This way when you import them they should fall on the tracks
with the same name and stay in the right order thanks to the
numbering. I am not sure how accessible capture is (i assume you are
referring to the recording app that comes with the Presounus SL.)
hence why i said you may just have to rename the files in finder after
exporting. Sighted users can just drag the Wave files on to the track
they want in the template but PT makes this a tedious process with
VoiceOver's drag and drop since you can't drop on the track itself in
the track list table. Your other option may just be to record
directly into pro Tools instead of using capture. If you are already
building a template just assign the inputs to each track and arm them
and save that as a template. That way you create a new session insert
the template and you are ready to record.
