Hi John André Many thanks, that's really helpful. A couple of notes in case it helps anyone. To get that to work, on this system at least, you need to disable the Mission Control Shortcut keystrokes, even though it looked as though they were set to shift up and down arrows.
While exploring, I found that you can also change the gain of the selection with the mouse-wheel while holding down control and shift. That might just prove useful. Anyway many thanks again.
