you know, this might be worth getting a used Mac Mini for, just to
run that MIDI rig.

Providing you use one of their Contact S series keyboards with

compatible. The self voicing part of this uses the Apple system
voice, so it can run standalone or in any plug and host. Really
excited for this new turn of events, and the minute that this
access is built into the next version of complete, I will be
ordering complete ultimate with the 61 note controller. The built
in sounds that come with ProTools suck royally, structure has
proven itself to be less than desirable, so I am ready for some
really great sounds for ProTools. This type of access couldn't come
soon enough.

concerning SoundFlower, I checked it out, and it looks like it is
currently not supported. However, Rogue Amoeba, who apparently were
the last distributors, now have an add-on available called
LoopBack, which does the same thing. I'll definitely give that a
go, knowing that this Company has some other great products out,
like Audio Hijack.

But what about Omnisphere or Nexus or something down that road? I'm
mainly after hig-quality bread-and-butter-sounds, plus orchestral.
Of course some electronic/synth sounds are always welcome1but since
I'm a bit of an analogue nerd i would make my own...:)

Komplete Kontrol keyboard a try, but if I could find something

to be accessible. The only aspect of virtual plug-ins that is
generally not accessible is the presets. Once the presets are
accessed and saved as .tfx files, they can be shared. Incidentally,
the Logic sounds can be accessed from within Pro Tools by using
Soundflower. There are videos and tutorials online on how to do
this dating back to Pro Tools version 11. I did it back then and it
does work. I haven't done it in a while but it's certainly
possible. You might want to look into that. Aside from Logic's
stock sounds, which third party virtual instruments have you used in Logic?
