Hi Rocco,

It's a long-standing tradition to pair stereo tracks with respect to odd/even 
numbers. This goes back to the analog days when those sorts of things mattered 
for multitrack tape machines and bouncing of tracks. This is a vestige of that 
practice. What you can do is either split your existing stereo track or create 
two mono tracks and assign whichever input you'd like. If you want to make it a 
stereo track in the end, just bounce the track to stereo or however you prefer 
to get it back to a single track.
