When I bought my macbook pro back in 2011, I
got it maxed out at the time. It is still working well for me. If you are
thinking long term, getting the best available, or at least the most you can
aaford, is good advice. Who knows? With fewer and fewer people using
actual computers these days, opting for tablets and iOS devices instead,
regular computers may become special order items.

Agreed with Slau here. Especially if video editing comes along you have a
screen ready made for it built in as apple just upped the game in that
regards with the current Gen 5k iMacs color Gammet. Assuming you may need to
show finish products to clients or if you are working with someone else. I
have a 2011 iMac i just maxed the ram out in this past weekend finally and
its still going strong 5 years later .

only 16 gig intern inside and the fact that a laptop is less powerfull
then a reall macpro...
