Hey, Chuck and all,
There are different versions of SourceConnect. SourceConnect Now is free and is basically done over the web, but I don’t think it’s meant for any kind of heavy lifting. If you’re just doing voice work it might do the job, although I’ve never used it. I do know other voice actors who do, though, but I can’t speak to its accessibility or anything. I have a SourceConnect Standard license. I bought it before subscriptions went into effect. I do know that this standard license can now be had for $35 per month with no iLok required, and I think they also have quarterly and annual rates. Then there is a SourceConnect Pro, and I think that’s a one-time purchase and then a yearly cost if you want a support contract. You can find more info at source-elements.com Hope that helps!! When I was doing some beta work for "Rebekah" at "SourceConnect" it was subscription i believe? TIA Chuck On Jul 19, 2016, at 11:41 PM, [email protected] wrote: Hi Satauna, Yes, that looks awesome! Thank you so much. I will look at that in the next few days. It does exactly what you're describing. As a voice actor, I use it all the time to have studios record what I'm reading remotely, in real time. SourceConnect is either a stand alone app or a plugin. They just released version 3.9. I tend to use this app under Windows. The last time I tried it with a Mac it wasn't accessible, but I've never attempted the plugin version under ProTools and it's been over a year since I tried it with the Mac. I know they're trying to go more toward a web interface, at least for the stand alone version. Do any of you know of a way to collaborate remotely when using pro tools, in real time? Either sending a high-quality audio stream between 2 people, or something within PT itself? I’m thinking similar to team talk but more accessible and easier to use from the Mac side.
