> Hi Ramy,
I've answered some of your questions below:
> 1- I'm using pt 12.7.1, do you advice me to update to sierra or not?
The benefits of moving to Sierra outweigh any other issues in my opinion.

As I mentioned earlier, asterisk activates the main counter field. The slash
key activates first the Start field, then the End field and then the Length
field, depending upon how many times the slash key is pressed. I've typed out
detailed instructions on this a couple of times on this list and I'd imagine
somebody has saved a copy of that message so hopefully they can share that here.

There's no difference.
> 2- Plaing using the space bar or the 0 in the Keypad?
There's no difference.

Shift+s will solo only the selected track whereas pressing the solo button
within a track will solo it regardless of its selection state.

> Semi-column does not deselect all the tracks.
Shift+Control+semicolon does not select all tracks. It extends the selection
downward to the adjacent tracks below the selected track or to the right,
depending upon how one thinks of tracks as being up and down or left to right
like the Mix and Edit windows respectively. The Keyboard shortcuts pdf and the
Shortcuts text file that I edited and put in the drop Box both detail the
available shortcuts in Pro Tools and there's a chapter in the Reference Guide
dedicated to shortcuts.
> and, if not, how can I deselect all the tracks?
You can interact with the tracks list and use the global command for toggling
the state of an item and changing all similar items to the same state. In other
words, Find a selected track and then use Option and click on the track. You'll
need to use a physical mouse or track pad because VoiceOver doesn't support
modified clicks.

> 7- How can i set the moving value from bar/beat to minute etc?
Go to the View menu and navigate down to the Main Counter sub menu and select
your time format there.

Command+w will close the currently focused window. This is a change to the
state of the session being displayed. So, if you save, then close a window,
you've technically changed the session file so if you try to quit, Pro Tools
will ask if you want to save the change you just made. The command to close a
session is Command+Shift+w.

Studying Pro Tools would really simply involve reading the manual so there's no
shortcut. Unfortunately, a picture's worth a thousand words and, since blind
users can't see that there are some record buttons armed and some that aren't,
it means the process isn't straightforward. There are several issues at work
here and I wouldn't be able to spend the time to explain them. For now, suffice
it to say that you can arm selected tracks with shift+r. This is a gross
simplification but it's pointless for me to explain it more than that because
you're at the very earliest stages of learning Pro Tools and haven't read
through the documentation yet. So, for now, I'd recommend reading a lot and
asking perhaps a question or two from time to time as you go along. It's easier
for others to help you if you demonstrate the effort on your part and keep the
questions to more manageable chunks.
