Hi John, There's an issue with certain plug-ins where VoiceOver sees the parameter but can't necessarily affect it through standard interaction. This is seen in some plug-ins created with the JUCE platform among others. Some developers have managed to solve the issue while others have not. It's difficult to pin down because there are several variables. For now, the bottom line is that a control surface is the only reliable way to change parameters in a case like this. Once changed, VoiceOver will read the values just fine but the process of changing the parameters themselves must be done through a surface. BTW, Brian, to your question, the Flo Tools Plug-In Monitor will work and report the changes correctly because the script is reporting the changes in real time so, if you use your FaderPort, you'll get feedback on what's being changed.
John, unless you have a surface, at least for now, you won't easily be able to affect the parameters in some cases. In some instances, with sighted assistance, you can grab the coordinates for the edit fields or UI elements and create a Plug-In View to be able to navigate the plug-in and change the values by simply typing. If you're talking about a plug-in without multiple tabs and, say, a dozen elements or so, it's actually a simple process. Hope that helps for now.
