Hi Brett,
Pro Tools with VoiceOver is very accessible and there are obviously a whole lot 
of variables when it comes to interfaces and such. Some folks on the list have 
had success with a number of affordable interfaces so I'll let them chime in. A 
control surface is not absolutely necessary but, if you want to work quickly, 
it'll pretty much be a necessity. On the cheaper side of things, there's the 
FaderPort 8 which a couple of people on the list can comment on and things get 
more expensive from there. Currently, your more expensive option is the Avid S3 
at around $5,000. There's not much in between right now unless you look at 
surfaces that don't offer great Pro Tools integration. I'd imagine it's 
probably best to go with something like the FaderPort 8 and use Flo Tools to 
speed up your workflow.
