Hi Jesse, Truly, it could be a number of things and it's difficult to troubleshoot when one has to assume that a number of other things are set up correctly. For example, if "either "Link Timeline and Edit selection" or "Edit Selection Follows Track Selection" under the Options menu are not checked, it can cause a situation like yours. Also, if an insertion point doesn't exist within the track you're trying to edit (as might be the case if Edit and Track selection aren't linked), you could be editing an entirely different track and not be aware of it.
Have you tried scrubbing within the track? Is "Insertion Follows Scrub" checked in the Preferences? When scrubbing, do you hear audio? Are you only editing a single track or a few tracks at the same time? Are the tracks shown or are they hidden? I suppose if you saw the Track View Selector, the track would, of course, have to be shown but, you understand, I'm grasping at straws here…. Let me know.
