Hi Alex,
I haven't used the built-in pitch in Pro Tools for a very long time so I can't 
comment on the quality but I'm sure it's fine for nudging pitches to a degree. 
Naturally, there will be some artifacts under certain conditions. AutoTune has 
a different kind of artifact but it doesn't handle pitch in the same way as 
manual adjustment can. I use an Audio Suite plug-in called Pitch'n Time which 
is a bit pricy at around $400 but it's great. The built-in pitch adjustment in 
PT is decent.
