Hi Albert, I'm replying and copying to the PT Access list where questions like these can be answered by the community and others can benefit as well by seeing the questions and responses. If you're not already subscribed, send a blank message to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>
When a track is soloed, other tracks are muted by implication or what's called an "implied mute." Since you're soloing tracks that do not contain audio but rather MIDI, you won't hear any sound because the sound is being generated by the Instrument track which is being muted because of the other tracks being soloed. You can prevent the Instrument track from being muted when soloing the MIDI tracks by putting it in "solo safe mode." Command-clicking the solo button of a track will solo safe the track. You can either navigate to the button and click the track pad while holding down the command key or you can use Flo Tools to issue a modified click. Once you've put the Instrument track into solo safe mode, soloing the kick or snare MIDI tracks will let the audio pass through the instrument track.
