Make sure the track is set to samples instead of ticks. You can either navigate
to a track and interact with it in the Edit Timeline and change the time base
from ticks to samples or, with Flo Tools, in the Mix window, navigate to a
track and with the Inspector on, press the letter b to hear which time base is
being used and double-tap to switch to a different time base. Occasionally, the
track height may be too small for Flo Tools to see everything. We recommend
setting it to at least medium.

When the track is in sample base, it won't move around whenever you change the
tempo. A general easy method for finding the tempo is to focus on the tempo
field in the Transport window, click it once, and, with the transport engaged,
tap the letter t in time with the music. After a few taps, the tempo will
appear in the tempo field. This method is only as accurate as your tapping.
Another method is to select , say, 8 bars of music and use the Identify Beat
function to define the selection as being 8 bars then take a look at the
resulting tempo. If it says something like 101.9995, you'll know that it's
probably really 102 bpm.
