Hello,

If I get the rig set up next week, I will call my Sweet Water rep and see if
they have an open box that I can hold on to for a week or two, and if it works,
perhaps send it back and get a new in the box one.

Hi Steve,

Not true!

I just went through this last week with a uad tech.

I had them do a teem viewer session and after the latest uad software install I
had the tech remove every single plug that I didn't own leaving only the plugs
I got with my Apollo duo.

The tech who I know from his Avid days is the one who suggested that the soft
tube controller might be a solution.

I do this every time uad brings out a new software version so when I'm booting
in to a pt hdx session I don't get those uad dialogues which come up if you
don't own the uad plug! :)

Until some one gets their hands and VO! ears on the unit the verdict is still
out!

ps keep emailing uad the steady drip is needed!

ps ps this is how you spell Apollo so we don't look like uninformed Apollo UA
users! :)

The way the UAD software works wen last I used it, it installed all the UAD

your account. So even in Pro Tools, unless you sort through and hide the ones
you do not have authorizations for you will have to scroll through a lot of
plug ins to find the ones you want. When you load a plug in you don’t have an
authorization for it will prompt you to purchase it or authorize a demo ( a
process that is not accessible btw). I say that to say this. UAD has about 100
plug ins in their arsenal alone, So even if the Console one hardware had the
means of allowing one to choose a plug in to load to a blank slot in the UAD
console software, one would still have to cycle through a long list to select
the plug in to load. And if the UAD console software still shows up as blank to
VoiceOver, We still won’t be able to select plug ins since there will be no
spoken feedback. I’d love to be proven wrong here and have this all be
accessible, I still have plug ins collecting dust in my UAD account I’d like to
use. But unless the UAD console software is now visible to voiceover somewhat
(which btw anyone who has a UAD Apollo and running the latest version of the
software can answer) We are still in the same boat.

If I am correct the Apollo has a free software download that allows greater
control by the Mark II. So the Mark II can be handled by listening and turning
knobs as you say. I feel there is something to this
controller-interface-software combination. However I might be as right as
wrong can be, dunno yet.

Really looking forward to finding out what Slau and Nate will learn from their
contacts who have tested the Mark II with VO.

Yes the goal of the Console one (the hardware control surface) is so that
engineers won’t have to look at the screen. However in the UAD Console (the
software emulating a mixer interface for the UAD Apollo audio interface) one
would first need to use a mouse to select a blank plug in slot and load a plug
into said slot. Once a plug in is loaded and selected, One can use the Console
one (hardware control surface) to change the parameters in the loaded plug in.
Because they are adjusting the knobs from a hardware surface, they won’t have
to look at the screen and can close their eyes and adjust until things sound
right. Given that so far there is no VoiceOver support in the UAD Console

(the software emulating a mixer interface for the UAD Apollo audio interface)
we still have to figure out a way to get the plug in loaded into a blank slot
on a given channel , before we can start changing it’s parameters with the
Console One (hardware control surface). This is why I don’t force the Console
one (hardware control surface) changing the game as far as allowing us to use
the UAD Console. In pro tools this won’t be an issue as the pro tools mixer is
accessible so we can load a plug in into a blank slot there and change the
parameters with the Console one (Hardware control surface). On Nov 30, 2017, at

Interesting, I was told the Console One is made so audio engineers would not
have to look at the screen at all.

The unit also has control over all Apollo plugins. It would seem if changes
were made to the Apollo interface One could dig into PT with VO and find out
what is going on. That way the Console One screen would not be as relevant.

Hi folks,

I had an email exchange with softube's support about six months ago. At that
time they didn’t believe that there product would be accessible. I tried to
obtain a demo through them, which they declined. I suppose maybe we could get
some help in obtaining a demo from the Sweetwater crew? Let me know where you
end up with this please.

Console one was made to control some of the soft tube plug ins and the UAD plug
in and now the UAD console. I don’t know how much functionality it has outside
of those areas as in if it can be use to control the DAW as well. Also It seems
PreSonus took some additional steps to allow some functionality with pro tools
in the fader port 8, that you wouldn’t normally get with a non Avid/ProTOols
controller, so you may still be interested in the Fader Port. Speaking of which
zounds has the fader port 8 for $100 off today.

Hi all,

Not a UA interface user myself but thought I should post this given recent
discussions on interfaces.

At first glance it seems a 500 buvk inbestment in soft tube's controler could
open up physical control of many funvtions of the oppolo which are not yet
accessible with boice over.

of the 2 soft tube plugins I own.
