Hi Chad,

As Pro Tools 12.8.3 is the very first version to support High Sierra, there are
still a couple of stray bugs that have been stubborn. There are a small group
of users (I'm not referring to blind users) who experience occasional trouble
quitting Pro Tools. Of course, Avid saw it fit enough to release and it'll
probably be fine. Sierra works perfectly fine. El Capitan, for some, was truly
unusable but I personally never had a problem with it. Whichever system you end
up using, be careful not to make the jump immediately whenever there's an OS
update. It's a good idea to check to see exactly which updates are supported.
Of course, everyone's an absolute expert on all kinds of subjects and this list
is no different so you can take anything anyone says with a little dose of
skepticism but most users have no problem with the most currently approved
system. Beta testers are usually on the bleeding edge for the sake of pushing
the envelope so you're safe enough if you'd really rather be on High Sierra
but, if you want a little safety net for a couple of months, by all means, stay
on Sierra.
Cheers,
slau
