I've been in touch with the Pro Tools Expert guys about the issue of missing play buttons on the site. I described the issue and info was forwarded to the PivotShare team. To my astonishment, I checked today and all of the play buttons are visible. Now, I'm a premium subscriber so I can't guarantee that the same play buttons show up for the free content but I'd imagine things would be consistent between the two.
