Without a control surface, that's the basic workflow. You can speed things up a 
bit by using VO+End to get to the bottom of the channel strip and navigate 
backwards. It's just a little faster. Flo Tools allows you to change volume 
without interacting with keyboard shortcuts but, if you're new to Pro Tools, 
you might want to wait a little before engaging the turbo charge.
