Without getting into automation, yu can simply use a fade out in the clip. Cut 
the clip at bar 10 or wherever it should be out.
Select from bar 6 to Bar 10 (or wherever it ends).
Press Command+f to bring up the Fades dialog and use Command+Left/right arrow 
to select an appropriate fade shape.
If you're in the Drop Box, look under the Demos folder for a file called "Fade 
Shapes" that demonstrates the process.
