You could try 5.4, but I'm not so sure that will help.
LivePlot has always been problematic because of the threading issues.

I don't have access to Tiger, I have access to an earlier MacOS
release.  I'll see if I can try it out tomorrow, I'm in a conference
today.

    Should I revert back to an older version of PtPlot ... 5.4 perhaps ?
    As I had said .. I am working on PtPlot 5.5 and using Java 1.4 on MAC  
    OS X Tiger.
    The PlotLiveDemoApplet is however working on my browser ... the  
    problem it seems is only with the application.
