    Hi,
I have used PTOLEMY version 0.6.
Now as newer versions have come, I wanted to know which release to
download from PTOLEMY website. I don't know JAVA and I am comfortable
    in C/C++.
I would like to use PTOLEMY for system simulation for wireless
    communication and
will need to make my own stars also. I have Sun-Sparc and Windows 9x
OS available to me. Can anybody suggest me which release should I
download from ptolemy website?? A prompt reply will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Ptolemy 0.7.2devel is the latest version of Ptolemy Classic, it is
available for download if you send me email.

Ptolemy 0.x is not under active development, which is good in that
it means it is fairly stable.

Ptolemy 0.x does not work very well under Windows, but it does work
well under Solaris and other versions of Unix such as Linux.

Ptolemy 0.x is written using C++.
If you are comfortable with C++, then you may want to download Ptolemy
0.7.2devel and install it.

Ptolemy II 1.0.1 is the latest version of Ptolemy II, it is available
from the Ptolemy website at http://ptolemy.eecs.berkeley.edu
Ptolemy II is under very active development, but does not have
as many functional blocks as Ptolemy Classic

Ptolemy II works great under Windows, and it also works well under
Solaris and Linux.

Ptolemy II is written using Java.

Java is basically a better version of C++, so if you are comfortable
with C++, you may want to learn Java :-)
