My crackberry finally bit it after being dropped about 2 billion times,
flung around in my truck, and last but not least, my battery crapped out. I
decided to get a G1 instead of a new BB. I am honestly very impressed with
it.

Wifi works great(altho I wish it would do GMA mode from tmobile) The
³marketplace² has a wardriving app, and yes, everything there that I found
is free, mostly open source.

GPS, works great, but it drains your battery pretty quickly.

Music, I have to say is awesome, the sound playback is as good, if not
better than my 3G ipod.

Mail, downside is that it locks you in to 1 gmail account(it¹s ok, but my
gtalk is on another gmail account)
I did have to d/l an application (TouchDown) to get my exchange email
from work, no native support. Unlike the iPhone, I was able to get exchange
to talk perfectly fine(hint apple....)

Youtube, video quality is nice, and yes, it¹s native flash(again, hint hint)

I have access to the shell(via free download)

Games, yup lots of them, nothing spectacular, but still.

Camera is pretty good

The bad :(

I don¹t like the proprietary usb connector(maybe I¹ll sacrifice a cable to
make a converter)

No direct earphone input, you have to use a usb connector(but it does sound
great)
No onscreen keyboard included

Battery life, when connected to 3G or WiFi is bad, but that¹s pretty
common, and I¹ve been spoiled by BB for not having to charge my phone all
the time.

As of this morning, I have embarked on porting a SIP application for my
phone, it will connect to my PBX at work(SIP enabled) and carry my ext while
I¹m at work.
Touchscreen as the hardware is multi touch enabled, the software isn¹t
right now.

Overall, a 8.3 out of 10

Hackable, fast, OPEN!!! No need to sell your soul to get it(you can buy an
unlocked one from google )
