We also have a very powerful, 500mW 802.11bg USB client that is supported
across many OS platforms, including the Linux 2.6 kernel. While I have not
personally installed this on a Linux machine, I have clients who have and
have also used them on many Windows & Mac computers as well. The Alfa client
is one of our most popular client devices both because of the high transmit
power and the many OS' that it supports.

We have a number of people using these with the factory rubber ducky
antenna and also with other external antennas for reaching to their
neighbor's wireless networks. This is a very cost effective solution for
accessing otherwise weak Wifi signals.
