Just to be sure I was clear about the Heading key to make a new track or file...
You can hit the Heading key while recording is going on without stopping. You do not need to pause or stop and then restart unless you need the time paused to change records, tapes, or whatever. When I record an LP, I just hit the Heading key at the end of each song and keep on going. The only part that needs to be deleted is the last one where I didn't realize it was the end of the side of the record and have recorded a little record noise and the needle being lifted from the record. Of course, if you know what is the last song, you can avoid that too.
