Andrew, Thank you very, very much. Plextalk should take your post below and post it on their website. I now realize that both the IRTI person and I were following the Plextalk webpage instructions which were, once again, incomplete. I figured I would follow your instructions and sure enough I began reading at section three then the install began. I have never, never installed any software in this manner. Since I was so afraid of losing my bookmarks I did not install the previous versions of the firmware, which might explain why I did not know the process since it was not posted as clearly as you defined in your message. I checked and I am indeed running the 2.0 software. Is it just me or does it seem as though the buttons are just a little more responsive and the audio tones are just a little quieter and sound a little different?

The disk contains three daisy sections, 1 table of contents, 2 read me, 3 warning instructions. After section 3, code is ran which kicks off the upgrade. You could skip through to section three by pressing six key until you hear section 3, and then read through this and then follow the upgrade through, but I wouldn't skip further than this. When you start the book up, you are starting a fairly normal daisy CD (that is, you will have to press play to start it etc). What problems are people having when upgrading? Is the unit telling you you are upgrading the same firmware revision, and in fact you are still reported as being on a 1.x release? Bookmarks are going to be removed for this upgrade, but will now be in a far more managable state, and so hopefully should not be removed after further upgrades. I repeat, you should be given speech before the upgrade. Whilst the upgrade is being done, you will hear progress tones (depending on which previous firmware you have, either musical or beep tones).
