Hi Peter, a lot of people want that, it's a good idea. However, in a limited form, one can already start a recording at a specific time automatically. One can configure the PTR1, so that it only starts a recording, when it hears a sound. With an external timer, which switches on a radio at a certain time, the PTR1 would start recording as soon as it hears the signal of the radio. This works quite well. One has to go to the recording settings, choose custom setting and set "Timing of start recording" to "When detect the sound".
