Hi,
If the ptr1 can tell you accurately how much time has been used and how much is remaining, then it should be able to do a time search.

Hi all:

I think Andrew gets to the heart of the matter here. Really, from a technical standpoint, how realistic is it to think that the PTR1 could access time increments in MP3s or cda files?

Maybe I'm not technical enough to wrap my head around how this is achievable. I ask this in all sincerity. What "tags" are there in MP3s or cda files that the PTR1 could even hang its hat on for processing?

What kind of processing power are we talking about here to have the functionality to get at all this data?

It's nice to dream, but I can't see how this idea is really possible.

Best,
Jennifer

Hi,

The time shifting function is readily available in DAISY titles due to the
XML markers in the files. Doing this on any other type of media without XML
markup would take considerably longer, and would also not be as accurate.

However, I would also love to see if we could get this implemented.

Andrew.

The time increment advance for Daisy books is great! We'd love to see this
available no matter what media or format is being used.
